Aaron Tarkin, 25, of 31 Lewis Ct., was stopped by police near New York Avenue and Tuthill Street in Huntington Station about 1 p.m., Suffolk police said. In the 2003 Hyundai with Tarkin were a friend's two sons, aged 5 and 8, who he was taking to lunch, police said.
Second Squad detectives charged Tarkin with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, criminal possession of a control substance, and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
He was to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Central Islip.
